Driven to Optimize Outcomes

IBMD-Logo_nobackground

International Biomedical Devices, Inc. (IBMD) is an early-stage medical device company focused in ophthalmology innovations. At present the company is leading the emerging, non-laser based, precision capsulotomy category through the development of a unique and much-needed new capsulotomy technology. The arrival of this device will represent a considerable potential improvement to traditional surgical technique by ensuring safer, more precise cataract surgeries and more predictable outcomes for patients.

Our Company History

Designed to Create the Perfect Capsulotomy…Everytime.

The ApertureRx uses thermal energy to achieve the capsulotomy incision. This innovative technology may ensure safer cataract surgeries for the patient. By simplifying the current manual procedure, a broader range of surgeons throughout the world may be able to achieve surgical incisions with precise placement and a high degree of consistency.

  • Range of tips available capable of creating 4.5 to 6.5 mm capsulotomy
  • Deployed through >1.8 mm incision; standard of care
  • Significantly greater reproducibility and consistency than manual technique
  • Cost-effectively integrated into the natural flow of cataract surgery.
  • No need for expensive hardware and additional surgical steps prior to entering the OR
  • Customize the position of the capsulotomy in real time under direct view of the microscope.

Technology

Designed to Produce a Laser-Like Capsulotomy at a Fraction of the Cost

The ApertureCTC™ Continuous Thermal Capsulotomy™ System is designed to create a precise incision, which could greatly simplify the capsulotomy procedure and improve IOL placement in cataract surgery.
